Our Story
Pirinthian Portraits was born due to my love of art in its various forms, especially photography, design, theatre and portraiture. My father was a tailor for Jones, Chalk and Dawson (est. 1896) near Saville Row in London. I spent many a day as a child in his workshop, growing up with bespoke suits made by him.
It was inevitable that I would also decide to go down the bespoke route. The culmination of years of travel through the artistic centres of Europe and being inspired by the great works of past masters added to my decision to change direction and leave corporate life behind.
I believe a bespoke painting, along with a bespoke suit or commissioned diamond ring is the epitome of style, sophistication and elegance. However, we shouldn't forget, that to invest in a self portrait also requires a sense of humour, which I like to refer to as wit, it is wit that inoculates art from ostentation. I am excited to be entering this fascinating niche of the art world and have a true desire to help clients frame a moment of time with a unique piece of family art that is close to their hearts.
