We Believe

in understanding our future by remembering our past.
in investing in our future by honouring our past.
in protecting our future by celebrating the past.
A few quotes that echo our beliefs.

Soren Kierkegaard
Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.

Lailah Gifty Akita
The present defines the future. The future builds on the foundation of the past.

Robert A. Heinlein
A generation which ignores history has no past and no future.

George Eliot
I desire no future that will break the ties of the past.

Our Philosophy

We embrace the digital age (we wouldn't exist without it), but also believe there is a bright future for the analogue world of printed books & photographs, vinyl records, hand written letters and of course, the beauty of a hand painted oil painting. Something magical happens when viewing and touching these works, their textures, contours and colours exude a romance not experienced in the digital realm. With digital photos they are either left unseen on hard drives for years or we scroll through them in rapid succession making them no longer that special.

We believe the many photographs in attics all over the world, these photos of personal significance in our lives, our heritage, need bringing back to life. Whether the occasion was a wedding, birthday or even the passing of a loved one, it is important to remember, honour and celebrate the past. Taking the time to go through old photographs is a rich way to connect with past memories.

We are creating a series of oil paintings to celebrate our heroes, starting with Charlie Chaplin. Once we build up a decent sized collection, we will hold a charitable auction.
